ABOUT TAYLOR
Taylor Austin was recruited to bobsleigh as a brakeman after playing football with the Calgary Colts. Taylor began sliding at the age of 21 for recreational purposes. Watching Canadian athletes win Olympic medals at home during Vancouver 2010 sparked his own Olympic pursuit. Even as a rookie, Taylor participated in driving schools in Calgary and Lake Placid, and midway through the 2012-13 season, he was already piloting his own sled on the North American Cup circuit.In January 2017, Austin experienced an incredible thrill when two-time Olympic medalist Lascelles Brown pushed him to his first two North American Cup victories. His next significant breakthrough came in the 2019-20 season when he established dominance on the North American Cup circuit. Austin claimed the overall titles in both the two-man and four-man disciplines, winning 11 out of the 16 races.Although he did not compete in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Austin reemerged as a formidable contender in the North American Cup races in 2021-22. He secured first place overall in the four-man category, achieving six gold and two silver medals in the eight races. In the two-man event, he finished second overall, with three wins and only missing the podium once in eight races. These remarkable performances paved the way for Austin to make his World Cup debut in January 2022 on the legendary Olympia Bobrun in St. Moritz.Get ready to witness the extraordinary journey of Taylor Austin as he relentlessly trains for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
